Beth Boyes

Founder & Proprietor

Proprietor Beth Boyes (BHSI, UKCC3) started Quob Stables with just one pony back in 1992. In 1998, Quob Stables moved to its current location in Durley, where it has developed and expanded into the successful equestrian centre it is now, catering for all standards and ages of rider.

Michelle Pack

Yard Manager

Michelle Pack (BHS II) previously worked in London and joined Quob Stables is 2015 as our Yard Manager after moving back to Southampton. Michelle looks after all the horses, trains all the staff and keeps everything running smoothly on a day to day basis.

Jackie Kerr

Chief Instructor

Jackie Kerr (BHSII, NCMH) has been with us at Quob for over six years and is our Chief Instructor, keeping an eye on training and schooling. Her natural empathy with people and her encouraging style of teaching make Jackie our most popular and busy instructors here.

Kim Hayden

Show Organiser

Kim Hayden is our Show Organiser , responsible for our BS, BD and unafiliated shows. She completed her BHSAI many moons ago and is affectionately known in the office as ‘the dressage simulator queen’. She is also part of The Balanced Rider phsysio team who are based here.

Lily Blakeledge

Full Time Instructor

Lily (BHS Stage 3 Care, ND in Equine Studies) has been riding since she was 4 years old, and has worked at various stables including the Devils Horseman who own the Lloyds bank horse! She was also competed locally on loan horses in various shows, show jumping and dressage.

Mollie Mullen

Apprentice

Mollie joined us as an full time apprentice after working part time at weekends on the yard. She is working through her BHS exams and can now takes private lessons and our weekend ‘Leaders’. She can also be seen schooling our newer horses such as George.

Alex Oldbury- Davies

Horseball Coach

Alex has gone from Pony Clubber to horseball coach here at Quob. She starting to playing horseball in 2013 and now plays for London Reds team in the first division and also compete in dressage and show jumping in her spare time!

Roland Bellido

Part Time Instructor

Roland is orginally from Tenerife and previously worked at Wellington Riding. As a BHSII SC Instructor, he is able to train those training up to and competing at BD Advanced Medium, BE Intermediate Horse Trials and BS Foxhunter.

Kayleigh Daykin

Part Time Instructor

Kayleigh Daykin (BHS AI, BSc (Hons) Equine Studies, HND Horse Management) is one of our popular part time instructor here. Kayleigh is  fantastic at bringing on a the baby horses at Quob and is often seen schooling as well as teaching.

Roseanne Dyble

Part Time Receptionist

Roseanne has joined our Reception team part time after moving to the area to complete her BSc Animal Management with a focus on Equine Performance, at Sparsholt College. As well as studying, Roseanne is also hoping to compete her horse Isabelle in more show jumping competitions.

Toni Moore

Office Manager

After starting working outside on the Quob yard, Toni now in the back office- ensuring the office and reception runs smoothly. She owns Pony Club ponies Holly and Indie, as well as her own ex-racehorse called Nick. Toni has her BHS Stage 2.

WE ARE HIRING

We are looking for a self-motivated, hard working person to join the friendly Reception Team at Quob Stables.

The successful candidate needs to be computer literate and have a good telephone manner as well some basic horse knowledge. A team player with good organisation and communication skills and previous customer service or sales experience would be preferred, as well as someone who can thrive in a busy environment.

At least 33 hours a week to include at least one evening and weekend work.

Then The HayRack Cafe is the place for you!!

Here at The HayRack Cafe we are looking for a person with a passion for cooking and baking on a part time basis.

We are a business cafe which makes toasties, sandwiches, salads, paninis, coffee, lunch specials, homemade cakes, flapjacks and much more.

We offer barista style coffees and breakfast/afternoon tea specials

The HayRack Café has a Friendly atmosphere and a small team of 2 people.

Person applying must be adapt at cooking. Barista training is an advantage. However we are Keen to allocate the position to someone with a home style cooking desire to feed all our lovely staff and clients a nice cooked lunch, coffee and cake!

Days are flexible and can be negotiated but will include one weekend day on a rota basis.

Part Time 16 hours. with some holiday cover when needed.

Volunteering
