Founder & Proprietor

Proprietor Beth Boyes (BHSI, UKCC3) started Quob Stables with just one pony back in 1992. In 1998, Quob Stables moved to its current location in Durley, where it has developed and expanded into the successful equestrian centre it is now, catering for all standards and ages of rider.

Jane Murray

HayRack Cafe Manager

Jane joined Quob Stables in 2015, and manages our onsite cafe ‘The HayRack Cafe’. She works full time cooking delicious lunches and breakfasts for all our staff and customers. Jane loves to chat and keeps everyone up to date with all the Quob gossip!

Jodie Sherry

Full time Instructor

After working with us part time, we are pleased to say that she has joined us a full time instructor. She has much experience after being around horses since the age of two and is popular with Pony Club and University riders. She has her BHS Stage 3 Teach and is working towards Stage 4.

Matthew Britt

Full Time Apprentice

Matt joined us at Quob Stables in 2019 as a full time apprentice with KEITS after finishing college. He is working his way through the BHS Stages and teaches beginner group and private lessons. He currently teaches Leaders, Steerers and Pony Parties

Charlie Barnes

Full Time Apprentice

Charlie joined us at Quob Stables originally in the cafe back in 2019. Since working with us, he has formed an interest in working with horses. He has joined us on the yard as an apprentice with KEITS, to achieve his BHS stages.

Michelle Pack

Yard Manager

Michelle Pack (BHS II) previously worked in London and joined Quob Stables in 2015 as our Yard Manager after moving back to Southampton to be closer to family. Michelle looks after all the horses, trains all the staff and keeps everything running smoothly on a day to day basis.

Toni Moore

HR Manager

After starting working outside on the Quob yard, Toni now in the back office- ensuring the HR, holidays and staff contracts run smoothly. She owns Pony Club ponies Holly and Indie, as well as her own ex-racehorse called Nick (pictured) who she competes. Toni has her BHS Stage 2.

Briony MacKenzie

Part time Instructor

Briony is a UKCC2 and Stage 4 Teach and SM qualified instructor as well as a equine physiotherapist and so can often be seen treating the horses here at Quob as well as teaching our BHS Stage courses and private clients. Briony also owns and competes her own horses too.

Megan Ryves

Full Time Apprentice

Megan has recently joined our Apprenticeship Scheme with KEITS and is also training up through the BHS stages. She is no stranger to Quob, having previously been a Quob Stables Pony Clubber and progressing on to livery with her own horse Trigger.

Tie

Head Rat Catcher

Tie joined us in 2019 along with Welly as a kitten. She has quickly gained much experience in keeping the yard free of pests and has worked her way up the ranks to become head of the rat catching department.

Jenny Knight

Head Receptionist

Jenny is no stranger to Quob Stables, having learnt to ride here as a child before owning her own horse. Jenny then went on to work at a dressage yard, competing up to Advanced Medium level. Jenny has also worked at well known store Scats before joining our Reception team in 2017.

Claire Rossiter

Marketing Co-ordinator

Claire started at Quob Stables in 2015, and runs the Quob Stables Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and website. Claire previously worked at Guide Dogs for the Blind and Global Herbs. Claire has ridden since she was three years old, has her BHS Stage 2 and also her own horse, Sandro (pictured).

Kimm Warford

Full time Instructor

Kimm is a BHS Stage 3 Instructor who teaches both private and group lessons here at Quob. She has become very popular and has many fans both adults and children alike. She can often be seen teaching pony club group lessons on the weekends and after school.

Caitlin Ainsworth

Full Time Apprentice

Caitlin is 18 years old, and joined us in 2018 as an apprentice through Haddon Training which she is continuing here. She is also working through her BHS Stage Exams here and is already becoming a popular instructor with the children’s lessons such as Pony Play Time.

Welly

Rat Catcher

Welly joined us in 2019 along with Tie as a fluffy young kitten. She likes to keep to herself and can be a little bit sassy, but secretly she loves a good scratch behind the ears.
